Little Big Town 4 Cellars Red Wine Blend 2015

Dark blackish hue with aromas of ark berry, blueberry touches, cherry cream bon bon, light cigar ash and savory spice at the rim.

Palate--Non-descript first impression with a too-tart front, chewy tannins, subdued fruit, awkward mouth feel, and an austere finish.

OK this hasn't started well at all. It may be that it needs to breath and warm up a tad from my winter cellar temp. of around 52 degrees.  We'll see.

This is an uncharacteristic Columbia Valley Red.  It isa a confused haphazard blend of Merlot, Cab. Shiraz, Malbec.  It tastes  rather ucky in all aspects.  It was marked down from $20 to $10 and $10 was $8 too much.  Nuff said!

Barrel Heist Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Lighter hued cranberry color with aromas of sweet red berries and dried red fruit with a touch of spice.      Palate--Fruit forward, easy to quaff with soft tannins, and a simple pleasant all around red.  Just don't confuse this with a "real" cabernet Sauvignon.  At $7 (Trader Joe's) let's get real... It's better than two buck chuck!

Cigar Box Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (Hand Harvested) Dalle Valley Chile 2010

Bricking hue with aromas of spicy baked blackberry pie, and blueberry, with a touch of menthol and savory spices at the rim. Palate--Sturdy structured Cab with loads of mature dark berry fruit. It has an "OK" finish and it does linger for a good while! This isn't a complex Cab but the fact that it is as delicious as it is at 10 years old is a surprise and a treat! This sold for probably around $10 at its release so it is an outlier that it is still drinking so well.  Definitely at it's ultimate time but will hold for I would guess 2 years anyway. It is a testament of the quality of even inexpensive Chilean Cabernets which are among some of my favorites. It is doubtful that you will find this wine this old but if you do you want to snag it and enjoy.  Raise a glass!

M. Chevallier Brut (Cava)

Straw hue with aromas of gentle vanilla, lime, more vanilla, and citrus. Palate-- Fresh, clean, teensy pin prick bubbles, creamy texture, fresh clean finish that lingers a bit. If you want a great summer bubbly with no animals on the label, tastes like real wine than a manufactured wine beverage, this is a great summer choice. It's a Trader Joe's regular and runs $10.  Raise a glass, sit on your deck or pool side and enjoy!
