Bella Bolle Moscato D'Asti

Light straw hue with aromas of light ripe melon with baby powder notes Palate--Simple, straight forward Moscato, lacking on the acidic end of things, but not quite cloying. Nice flavors of tropical fruit salad which are quite nice if chilled down greatly and served as an aperitif. At $12 a bottle it's a popular sweet, summer treat.  Don't analyze it, don't review it, just quaff and say raise a glass!

Botani 2017 Garnacha

Extremely light ruby hue on the pour with aromas of lovely, nearly floral candy apple and cherry, with sweet baking spices in the front. Palate--gentle structure sets off a full flavored presentation of bright cherry, and gentle spice. It finishes with a lingering, fruity finish. I paid $14 for this Spanish Grenache and it is tasty, light and quite refreshing.  Chill this one down and enjoy by itself or with lighter cheeses, and pasta.  Then raise a glass!

Kono Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Pale straw hue with robust aromas of cut grass, lemon lime, and guava paste Palate-- classic S Blanc with delicious, racy acidity that will cut your tongue, vibrant flavors of lemon citrus with guava and a dry as dust backbone. This Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is a value at $12.  It would be perfect with fresh Maine lobster, which we are blessed with in cheap abundance.  Chill this one down in the fridge and enjoy the rest of the summer and raise a glass!

Rodney Strong Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma) 2015

Purple hue with aromas of mint, and chocolate with rich berry aromas trying to fight out. Palate- Supple tannins, integrated structure and flavors, with a caressing texture with fruity, berry filled, mint-tinged palate. This is a wonderfully sensual Cabernet from Sonoma which although it doesn't have the cache that Napa has, Sonoma has the value Cabs that are well made, balanced, delightful to drink and won't require a second mortgage on your house to buy a few bottles. At around under $20, this is a really nice cab that will pair well with your grilled steaks, ribs, pizza, spaghetti, or all by itself!  Grab one and enjoy quality at a bargain price and raise a glass!

Domaine Les Verrieres Languedoc 2014

Garnet hue with aromas of bright spicy cherry which yields on breathing to grapefruit with milk chocolate on the edge. Palate--Full bodied, robust dark, sour cherry with loads of dark berries, citrus mouth feel, with a lingering finish of more robust berry goodness. Wow, this is a big wine which will pair awesomely with my grilled venison steaks (road kill this past spring!  Ya have to be a Mainer to understand...) The Languedoc has been an area of France which I have seen become a really nice value wine region of the world.  Rarely am I disappointed with a wine from here. I paid $14 for this wine marked down from $28.  Candidly I would have been pleased with this wine at the $28 price point.  As it is, this is a steal so raise a glass!
